Murphy has traded life on the beautiful island of Hawaii for the cooler (even in April!) and sometimes soggy days of Canada. Sure, there are gorgeous beaches and year-round sunshine back home—but none of that matters when you don’t have a place to call your own. So, instead of catching waves, Murphy may be trying his paw at skijoring next winter alongside his new human.<br/><br/>He was found last November in Hilo, Hawaii, running along the highway with another canine companion. Murphy was in rough shape and dangerously thin, but when kind humans approached, he met them with trust in his eyes. Since then, he has been living with a foster family alongside their own dogs, learning what it means to be cared for. He is eager for affection and impressively willing to learn—Murphy truly has never met a stranger.<br/><br/>Playful and social with both dogs and people, Murphy brings a joyful energy wherever he goes. While he hasn’t had any formal training yet, he shows all the signs of being an excellent student—he simply loves to learn.
