Meet Murphy, a 7-year-old hunk of love who’s working on his beach body by shedding some extra pounds with the help of his foster family. He’ll need a forever home that can keep up the momentum with regular walks, playtime, and a healthy diet.<br/><br/>Murphy is a laid-back guy who enjoys lounging on the couch, getting his head scratched, and catching a good nap. But don’t let his chill vibe fool you, he still gets the occasional case of the zoomies and loves a good game of fetch (though he’s still deciding if bringing the ball back is really necessary).<br/><br/>He’s good with kids and loves being part of the family action. Just a heads-up: Murphy sometimes confuses kid toys with dog toys, and when he’s feeling playful or wants attention, he might nibble on a blanket or pillow or try to grab a shirt sleeve, but he’s easily redirected with a toy or a little guidance. He’s eager to please and learning fast!<br/><br/>Murphy is good coexisting with other dogs and has shown some inclination to play. He would also do well as an only dog.<br/><br/>Murphy is crate-trained, house-trained, and working on brushing up his basic commands. He’s okay to hang out at home while you’re away, but he’d much rather be by your side, whether it’s for a walk or a cuddle session on the couch. He’d love to sleep in your bed, but he’s just as content curling up on his own bed or the couch.<br/><br/>He does alert bark when something catches his attention, but he settles quickly and gets back to relaxing. Murphy is a sweet, playful, and affectionate boy who’s ready to find his forever family.<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger cuddle game, Murphy might just be your perfect match!<br/><br/>History:<br/><br/>Murphy was surrendered at no fault of his own. His dad developed dementia and was no longer able to care for him. Family members stepped in and surrendered Murphy to ABR to ensure he had the life he deserved.
