Murph's Story

Murph is an 8-9 year old neutered male. We are debating whether he is an English Bulldog or a Boxer as he has characteristics of both. Possibly a mix? He was rescued from a fraudulent rescue group and transferred to us from Animal Rescue Corps. Sadly, the rescue he was with was not using donations to care for the dogs which left Murph heartworm positive. We have started him on his heartworm treatment but he will need to lose 15-20 lbs before he is eligible for full treatment. Murph is a slow moving senior who is completely content to sleep all day. He is fully house trained and crate trained and has no problem going "crate" when you ask him. Murph is not an adventurer, he does not want to go walks and smell the flowers, he wants to lay in the grass and stare at the sky or go back inside. Murph has arthritis from his weight and age and we have started him on medication to help. Murph is currently 80 lbs but should ideally weight 60-65.

Knox Vintage Pet Project's Adoption Policy
We have a written application all potential adopters must fill out. Once the application is complete, we call all vet references to make sure their current pets are well taken care of (up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention, sterilized). If the adopter rents, we will call the landlord to make sure they are allowed to have pets and have no restrictions. We require a meet and greet with all of their current pets before adoption.
