Meet Murph: 1 Year Old, 45 Pounds of Pure Love, Playfulness & Puppy Mischief!

Looking for a best friend, a walking buddy, a playmate for the kids, and a sweet four-legged shadow who believes every family adventure should include him? Meet Murph!

Murph is a 1-year-old, 45-pound bundle of joy with a heart as big as his personality. This handsome, playful boy was rescued from a shelter, and he is making up for lost time by discovering just how wonderful life with a loving family can be.

One of the sweetest things about Murph is how much he adores children. Within just two days of arriving at his foster home, he became best friends with the family’s 3-year-old! Now he follows his little buddy everywhere, curls up beside him, and happily joins in on whatever adventure the kids have planned. Murph is the kind of dog who wants to be close, included, and loved—and he gives that love right back tenfold.

Murph is curious about everything. Cooking dinner? He’s supervising. Heading into the backyard? He’s right behind you. Wondering where a family member went? Don’t worry—Murph is conducting a full-house investigation until everyone is accounted for!

A few things that make Murph extra special:

* Kid-friendly and dog-friendly! He currently lives with young children and larger dogs.
* Active and adventurous! He loves long walks, running, toys, and backyard games of chase.
* Affectionate and family-oriented! His favorite place is wherever his people are.
* Mostly house-trained! He is doing wonderfully with a consistent potty schedule and is still learning how to let his family know when he needs to go out.
* A quiet housemate! He rarely barks, except when he is inviting the kids to play.
* Smart and eager to learn! At just 1 year old, he is already picking up household routines and basic commands.
* Fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped!

Murph welcomes visitors into his home, although he can be a little bashful when meeting unfamiliar people on walks. He is still learning that the world is a safe place, and a patient, loving family will help his confidence continue to blossom.

Murph’s dream home is an active, affectionate family that enjoys walks, playtime, and spending plenty of time together. He would especially love a home where his people are around often, because Murph does not want to simply live with a family—he wants to be part of every moment. He wants to be your companion, your shadow, your playmate, and your devoted best friend.

Murph has already discovered how wonderful love can be. Now he just needs a family who will promise him that love is forever.

Could that family be you?

Murph’s adoption fee is $350 and includes his full vetting, neuter, and microchip.

Apply to adopt Murph here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SAN/Dog

Transport available for an additional fee.

To apply:
Please fill out an application at www.ssrsaves.com or email info@ssrsaves.com and an adoption coordinator will contact you.

Our rescue is based in Houston, Texas, but we work with foster homes across multiple regions.
