Meet Mr. Shilo! He is a one-year-old, 17lb Chihuahua/dachshund mix with a heart of gold. Mr. Shilo came from a difficult situation involving 60 dogs where he often had to compete for food. Fortunately, he was rescued and has been thriving in a wonderful foster home.<br/><br/>In his foster home, Mr. Shilo has learned to love the indoors. While he was initially scared, he has blossomed into a happy energetic dog who enjoys zoomies in the yard, sitting in laps, doing and receiving belly rubs.<br/><br/>Here are some important details to help you decide if Mr. Shilo is a good fit for your home:<br/><br/>- Behavior: He is a bit cautious at first and needs a patient family that will give him time to warm up.<br/><br/>- Only Dog: Mr Shilo wants to be the top and only dog in his household.<br/><br/>- Training: He uses a doggy door but still needs help with leash training and walking.<br/><br/>- Food: He is very food-motivated. Due to his history, he does not like to share food or treats.<br/><br/>- Sleeping: He is happy to sleep in your bed or in a dog bed in your room.<br/><br/>- Children: It is currently unknown how he behaves around children.<br/><br/>Mr. Shilo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
