Mr. Pooh

Named after Winnie the Pooh for his sweet face, Mr. Pooh is every bit as sweet as he looks. He was found abandoned at a bus stop in rough shape. Friends of Hair of the Dog registered him at the county shelter but couldn’t bear to leave him there. He’s been safe, happy, and flourishing in their home ever since.<br/><br/>He had a very successful entropion surgery, and being able to see clearly has given him an extra pep in his step! Mr. Pooh has been an ideal guest: quiet, attentive, house-trained, friendly with dogs, cats, a rabbit, even a lizard (!), and incredibly gentle with their one-year-old daughter (see video).<br/><br/>We estimate he’s 8–10 years old and about 65 lbs., possibly a Lab mix. He’s also been spending afternoons at his foster family’s dog grooming salon, where he’s been wonderful with every animal and person who comes through the door.<br/><br/>Why adopt a senior? Their personality, size, and habits are usually well established, and many already understand house manners. Seniors tend to be incredibly loyal and grateful for a soft place to land.
