Mr Peanut's Story

Meet Mr. Peanut 🥜
Mr. Peanut is a sturdy, 20-lb chihuahua dachshund _______ mix with the heart (and body) of an athlete and the soul of a snuggler. At 7 years old, he’s house-trained, loves his walks, hikes, and still brings plenty of energy and personality.

He loves being outdoors and does especially well with access to a yard, where he’s happy to hang out independently, basking in the sun or exploring. He also settles nicely indoors, enjoying long naps in a comfy dog bed or next to his human. He’d be a great match for an active family or individual who wants a companion and doesn’t plan to leave him indoors all day.

Mr. Peanut plays well with other dogs and has a special fondness for Frenchies. On leash, he’s strong and his leash manners are a work in progress; he can be reactive toward other dogs on walks and will benefit from continued, confident training. He can also get worked up during deliveries or when workers are around, especially if other dogs react first—he tends to feed off that energy.

He’s affectionate, is a sweet soul, and is highly food-motivated. He also loves toys… and enthusiastically destroys them (rubber squeakies and the indestructible toys only). Built like a little tank, he’s tough, resilient, but a love bug at heart.

Mr. Peanut is not a passive couch ornament—he’s a smart dog who thrives with engagement, structure, and time with his people. In the right home, he’ll be a loyal, entertaining, and deeply lovable companion.

Please submit an application on our website.

https://www.dachshundsandfriends.org/
