Mr Buddy

“Mr Buddy” – Male, 10 yrs old, 20#, neutered, well socialized, alpha male who is seeking a new home. Buddy is a great guy who wants a human to hang out with. He is a Velcro guy one who needs to be close by your side to be happy. He would like nothing more to be petted, rubbed and talked to. He will quickly become your little shadow. He is leash trained, house trained, and a friend. Great fur, loves car rides, soft talks, and a soft bed. Likes everyone he meets. Does not want to have his head petted. Loves to play with toys and power walks.<br/><br/>Background: Buddy comes into our program from a home where one of the owners is beginning to suffer from dementia causing Buddy concerns. Buddy is little guy who needs confidence that structure and a strong schedule in his life will bring. He is slow to bond but wants lots of attention. He is a great traveler but will bark at passing cars as they need to slow down! He is easily startled and is then on high alert till he accepts the situation as normal. All he wants to do is go home to his family so we hope that he will be adopted quickly so he can happily settle into a new home and routine. Obviously, he highly values his family. He loves car rides. He is good on the leash. He is a quiet guy, not one who barks just to hear the sound of his own voice. He definitely loves squeaky toys and he will fetch nicely, bringing back his toy, dropping it near you, and then pushing it a little closer to you with his nose.<br/><br/>While he may act unsettled in the first few days, we can easily see that he will be content, happy, playful and affectionate once he is again in a stable home environment.<br/><br/>Best Home: Buddy is a lovely little guy who just needs a happy home to make his life complete. Once in his new home, his family will need a little compassion and patience as he comes to understand that you are his new world and that his new home is his forever home. He will be totally devoted as soon as he understands that you are his new family and that he needs to let go of his old life. Would do best in a one dog home with no kids. Strong willed human is required.<br/><br/>Buddy says: “I need a new home as my owners could not care for me anymore. They loved me a lot, and I them. I would like to have a great home with a human or two to pet me and be my best buddy. I like to play with toys so the more the merrier. I am a very good-looking Westie who is active and very busy. I love to be by your side in a chair or even better a couch. I travel well too. I am easily startled and I will be on high alert until the situation returns to normal. I have my own leash, and toys. All I need is YOU. <br/><br/>Oh, I had knee surgery as I tore it chasing a squirrel, so while it has healed, it is tender (so don’t touch!) as I get surprise by the pain pop. At the Vet they found a mass in my mouth and some teeth that needed cleaning.
