Moss's Story
Neutered Male
6 Months Old
40 Pounds
$200

Meet Moss — a young pup with tons of potential and a whole lot of growing to do!

At just 5–6 months old, Moss is a neutered male who’s expected to grow into a 60–70 pound adult. He came to the shelter as a stray alongside his “brother,” Acorn. Sadly, they were never reclaimed, but now Moss is ready for a fresh start with a family of his own.

Moss is still very much a puppy, which means he’ll need a patient and understanding home committed to helping him learn the basics. Potty training, obedience, and good manners are all things he’s still working on. He’s at the perfect age to learn—it just takes time, consistency, and dedication.

Bringing home a young dog like Moss is incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with responsibility. He’ll need structure, guidance, and plenty of positive reinforcement to grow into a well-behaved, confident adult dog.

If you’re ready to put in the work and invest in his future, Moss will reward you with loyalty, love, and the joy that only a puppy can bring.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at no additional cost to the owner. This is one reason we have fees on the dogs to help cover the extra medical some of the other residents need. They all share the burden and the rewards.
No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We typically require a meet-and-greet between any resident dogs and the dog you’re interested in adopting, to ensure everyone gets along safely and comfortably.
Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.
Open Adoption Hours:
• Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm
• Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm
• Saturday: Noon – 4 pm
I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.
We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
