Moses - The Ultimate 9-Year-Old Gentle Shepherd Needs Help<br/><br/>At 9 years young, Moses was recently surrendered to Sedona Shepherd. When he first arrived, it was clear life had not been kind to him lately. He was severely undernourished, covered in painful hot spots, and suffering from intense allergies. Those were just the health issues we knew about. Once Moses was brought to our vet, it was discovered that Moses had even more life threatening medical burdens.<br/><br/>Moses Medical Battle<br/><br/>Moses is currently in one of our incredible foster homes, but his road to recovery requires intensive medical intervention. His recent check-ups revealed:<br/><br/>Severe Perianal Fistulas: A deeply painful, chronic inflammatory condition that requires immediate, specialized treatment to give him relief.<br/><br/>Lyme Disease: He has tested positive and needs a full course of treatment to fight off the infection.<br/><br/>Potential Kidney Disease: We are currently running advanced diagnostics to determine the extent of his kidney issues and establish a long-term management plan.<br/><br/>Ongoing Testing: We are continuing to screen him to ensure we arent missing any other underlying conditions.<br/> <br/>Despite everything his body is going through, Moses refuses to let his spirit be broken. His foster family reports that he is an absolute joy to care for. He is a calm gentleman who has handled his vet visits and medication with grace. He loves playing outside with his foster family. Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary's Adoption Policy
Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary has a streamlined process for applying to adopt a German Shepherd.  We do require a short application be completed that includes a veterinary reference, personal references and a home visit. You must own your own home. We do NOT require a fenced in yard or prior German Shepherd experience.  On occasion if we have a younger adult dog that would benefit from a more experienced handler we will note that appropriately on the dog's listing. Our adoption fee is: Ages under 3 years old: $450 Ages 3 to 8: $250 Over 8 years old: $150 (or waived) For dogs older than 10 or with medical issues we will waive the adoption fee.  This is done on a case by case situation. We do not adopt puppies.  If you are interested in adopting a dog under 4 years old there are a number of respectable German Shepherd Rescues in the New Jersey metropolitan area that can accommodate you, including Shepherd's Hope Rescue and Garden State German Shepherd Rescue.
