Moriah 's Story

Moriah here. Like the mountain. Majestic. Serene. Slightly aww-inspiring in lighting. ✨ But unlike a mountain, I am extremely portable and will follow you to the bathroom. This is the part where you may continue scrolling… but just know you’re scrolling past actual perfection. I am what experts would call “the sweetest tempered pup ever.” And by experts, I mean literally everyone who has met me. You know that feeling when you walk into a room and there’s one calm, warm, emotionally stable individual holding the vibe together? That’s me. I am the vibe.

Oh good. You’re still here. Which means you’re already emotionally invested. Excellent. Let’s continue. I am a 10-week-old female Pyr mix with soft eyes, a gentle soul, and a backstory that sounds like the opening scene of a Disney movie. My mama, Sierra, did her very best trying to keep us safe. There we were — three little fluff nuggets — just trying to survive on the streets, wondering what happened to our other three siblings who vanished one day. Turns out they had been separated and ended up at a shelter… where the humans at Pyr Paws N Fluffy Tails Rescue swooped in like the fluffy-dog Avengers and saved them. And then somehow? We popped up on their radar, and thanks to some amazing people stepping up just like the rest of my siblings and mom were safe too. But enough about my family. They’re lovely. Truly. 10/10 would recommend them. However. You’re not reading this for them. You’re reading this because you are currently staring at my face thinking, “Oh no. That’s the one.” Correct? Good. We’re on the same page.

Oh you want the tea on my social life? Excellent. I’ve been waiting for this segment. First of all, yes, I am small. Petite. Delicate. A dainty mountain marshmallow. However. Do not confuse “tiny” with “push-over.” I get along wonderfully with other dogs. I play, I mingle, I participate in group activities like a socially competent young lady. I enjoy romping with my siblings, sharing space, and generally being part of the pack. But if someone tries to test my boundaries, I will absolutely speak my mind. I simply deliver a very clear, very professional “excuse me, ma’am” and we move on. Communication is important. I believe in healthy boundaries. So yes — tiny but mighty. Soft but not spineless. Sweet but self-aware. Cats? I understand that cats are tiny royalty with sharp opinions. I respect that. I choose peace. So if your household includes a resident feline who enjoys minding their own business and judging everyone from elevated surfaces, I can absolutely coexist. Gracefully. Calmly. Without turning your living room into an episode of Animal Planet. Ah yes. The tiny humans. I have, in fact, been exposed to children. Ages 3, 7, and 9 — which is essentially the full spectrum of “sticky hands but good intentions.” And how did I handle it? Like a saint. I allow myself to be carried around like the small, dignified princess that I am. Do I always understand where we are going? No. Do I protest? Also no. I simply accept my fate and remain composed. So yes. I do wonderfully with them. I am gentle, tolerant, and surprisingly patient for someone who is technically still a baby herself.

Energy level? I’m going to give myself a very confident, very respectable 6. I am the perfect mix of “let’s go do something” and “let’s absolutely not do anything.” Mountain girl stamina with marshmallow vibes. Adventure-seeker or homebody? Currently, I am tiny. Like… “could fit in the crook of your arm while you carry laundry” tiny. So yes, after approximately 12 minutes of adventuring, I do require a scheduled recharge. I am still operating on baby batteries. Do I enjoy being snuggled? Absolutely. I melt. Do I enjoy playing? Also yes. I will zoom. I will pounce. I will participate in light shenanigans. Would I go on adventures? Of course. I am a mountain mix. It’s in the résumé. Hikes? Yard exploration? Scenic walks? I’m in. Just… maybe with snack breaks and a nap afterward. Overall temperament? When they say I’m cool, calm, and collected… they are not exaggerating. I am not here for chaos. I am the emotional support friend of the litter. The steady one. The “it’s okay guys, we’ll figure it out” girl. While others may be testing the structural integrity of the house, I am simply observing, participating politely, and radiating peace. Sweet tempered? That’s not marketing. That’s just facts. I am sweet enough to make you question how you ever lived without me.

We’ve arrived at the “responsibility” portion of this presentation. I am delightful. I am sweet. I am emotionally balanced beyond my weeks. However. I am still a baby. Which means my future family needs to be prepared to potty train me. Not in a “hope for the best” way. In a consistent, structured, grown-up way. You will also need to puppy-proof your home. I did not design the electrical cords to be noodle-shaped. I did not make shoes chewable. That’s on the manufacturers. Socialization? Yes please. I am naturally sweet, but it’s your job to introduce me to the world properly so I grow into a confident, well-rounded mountain lady. New people, new places, new experiences — guide me. And training? Absolutely. I am intelligent. Which means if you don’t give me direction, I will begin making executive decisions on my own. And while I believe in myself… you may not always agree with my ideas. So, you bring the structure, patience, consistency, and follow-through and I will meet you halfway with sweetness, loyalty, and a temperament that makes other puppies look mildly unhinged. Deal?

If you’ve made it this far, congratulations. You are clearly emotionally invested in a cool, calm, sweet-tempered mountain princess with excellent manners and soft eyes. Now. Here’s where we separate the “OMG she’s precious” commenters from the people who are actually ready to secure the sweetness. If you would like to adopt me, you need to fill out an actual adoption application. Not a DM. Not a “still available?” Not a comment that says “following.” A real application. With typing. And commitment. And once you’re approved? You will need to pick me up in Okarche, Oklahoma.

So if you’re ready for loyalty, softness, gentle affection, and a lifetime of mountain-girl love —

Stop scrolling.
Fill out the application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app
Come to Okarche.
Secure the fluff.
