Morgan Wallen's Story

Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Morgan Wallen.

Morgan Wallen is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.

Meet Morgan Wallen!

Morgan is a 1 and a half year old male husky mix. Morgan is fully grown and weighs 40 pounds. Morgan Wallen is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find his forever home!

Morgan has what's called ischemic dermatopathy, which is basically a fancy term for skin damage caused by reduced blood flow to the skin. He is on 2 daily medications and likely will need to be on those medications for the rest of his life. Morgan's hair (more than likely) will not grow back, but we think he's perfect just the way he is!

Morgan is dog friendly and currently lives with multiple other dogs in his foster home. He gets excited to meet new dogs, but once introduced, he does really well! We would say that Morgan has a moderate energy level. He has moments where he likes to run zoomies and play, but he can also be calm and cuddle on the couch with you. He can be a couch potato and then get the zoomies and want to play. His favorite things include wrestling in the yard with his doggie foster siblings and cuddling in bed with his foster mom.

Morgan would prefer a home without cats.

While Morgan doesn't live with children, he's met kids at many different events. We think he would do best in a home with older kids who are able to respect boundaries.

Morgan gets very excited to go for walks! Sometimes he will pull out of excitement and sometimes he will stay calmly by your side.

Morgan is fully potty and crate trained! He goes into the kennel no problem and relaxes while he's in there.

Here's a small blurb about Morgan Wallen from his foster mom:
Morgan is SO ADORABLE and always brightens my day. I love snuggling with him at night and he sleeps great in my bed and just curls up right against me. He is so goofy and brightens up my day when he does his happy feet dance. He gets along well with the other dogs in the house. He is HIGHLY food motivated and we are currently working on "place" and he's doing really well with learning new tricks. He's great at events and when people come over to my house to visit. Morgan is always sure to greet everyone with tail wags. Despite everything he went through as a puppy with his medical diagnosis, Morgan is so happy go lucky and always has been. He has such a goofy personality and can make anyone laugh with his antics. He LOVES chasing water out of the water hose. He's a happy boy and easily wins the hearts of anyone who meets him! He's great in the car and will just sit still and enjoy the ride. The only "quirk" that Morgan has, is he is sometimes reactive on leash towards other dogs. This is something that we are working with him on. He does really well at coffee shops and dog friendly restaurants and meeting new people.

If you're interested in learning more about Morgan Wallen or applying to adopt him, please fill out our adoption application below and a volunteer will be in touch to coordinate a virtual meet & greet.

https://heartoftheunderdog.org/adoption-application
