Moose's Story

Meet Moose!

He walks nicely on leash, knows many tricks, like sit and shake, and is both crate and house-trained. He's a big fan of routine and would thrive in a home that makes time for daily walks, weekend hikes, and the occasional joyride. Moose rides great in the car and enjoys sticking his head out the window to feel the wind on his face!

This big guy LOVES to play, especially a rough-and-tumble game of chase with another playful dog, who doesn't mind roughhousing. He'd be perfectly happy as your one-and-only cuddle buddy, but he'd also enjoy sharing his home with another dog who's down to play and match his joyful energy. Moose would do best in a home with older kids who aren't fazed by his size. He's all love and wiggles, but there's a lot of him to love! He would do best in a home with no cats as well.

If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving, affectionate companion, Moose just might be your perfect match. He loves to be loved, and he can't wait to love you right back. Moose would do best in a home and not an apartment. He absolutely loves to talk and would thrive in a space where the occasional bark isn't a problem!

Moose is a big-hearted guy, but like many dogs, he can get a little stressed during big changes. Transitions, like moving into a new home, can be overwhelming for him at first. If you're considering welcoming Moose into your life, he'll need some patience, understanding, and a calm environment while he adjusts. The good news? He does settle in with time and support! And you won't be doing it alone Sarge's is more than happy to counsel and support adopters or fosters with tips, resources, and guidance to help Moose ease into your routine and home life as smoothly as possible!

Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation's Adoption Policy
Our adoption applications are located at https://www.sarges.org/adopt-a-pet/. Our adoptable cats and dogs are taken directly from Shelters, Rescues and Individuals in Western North Carolina. They are all tested for heartworm or FeLV/FIV, given appropriate vaccinations and preventatives for heartworms/fleas/ticks, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. The basic adoption fee is $50 for cats and $75 for kittens. Please contact us by email to find out about the cost of adoption for dogs - these fees range from $50 to $125 for adult dogs, and $175 for puppies. We also have adoption specials that take place - please visit www.sarges.org for more details. We have some animals in foster care, so please contact us before making a visit to meet a specific animal. The quickest way to get the ball rolling is an adoption application. It does not commit you to adopting - it just starts the conversation. We adopt animals out every day we are open so some animals may have pending applications already on file.
