Moose's Story

Meet Moose, a handsome 7-year-old German Shepherd/Black Labrador Retriever mix with sleek short black fur and a gentle, easygoing personality. Weighing 46 pounds, Moose is the perfect size for someone looking for a loyal companion who still enjoys getting out and about. He is friendly with new people and has done well around older children, making him a wonderful fit for a calm and loving family environment.

Moose is a smart, well-mannered boy who already has general obedience training and is housetrained. He has also been crate trained and settles in nicely at home. One of Moose’s favorite things in the world is his collection of tough super chewer toys — this guy prefers durable chew toys over stuffies or rope toys any day. Moose has lived with cats before and has done well with those he knows and trusts. He may also do well with the right dog companion when given slow and proper introductions.

Moose is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped, so he is ready to find his forever home. His adoption fee is $260. For more information on Moose or any of our other adoptable pets, please contact Cascades Humane Society at 517-787-7387.

Cascades Humane Society's Adoption Policy
Adoption Process Please fill out an adoption application. It is linked here on our Petfinder profile or you can find it listed on our website. This application saves you time when you arrive, it does not hold an animal for you. Please feel free to not wait for us to call you regarding your application, as we have limited staff and we get extremely busy. We strongly encourage you to come directly to CHS (or one of the local pet stores that houses cats for us) to meet the animal you are interested in. We are a first-come-first-serve facility. The adoption process will take approximately 30 minutes. In addition to a new best friend, you will receive: - A pet that has already been spayed/neutered and is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Your pet will have been heartworm tested (for dogs) and feline leukemia and FIV tested (for cats). - Cats and dogs will be microchipped. - A pet who has been de-wormed and treated for fleas and ticks - A free wellness check-up at participating veterinarians, to be used within 30 business days of the adoption -One month of free pet insurance -A free dog collar -A free ID tag that will help reunite you with your new pet, if it ever becomes lost -What Cascades Humane Society needs from you: Bring in your current pets’ vaccine records or your veterinarian’s phone number to verify your pets are up-to-date on vaccines. Verify that your landlord allows you to have pets at the rented property. Placing a Hold on an Animal If, after you have met a pet, you are unsure if you would like to adopt them or not, you may place a hold on that pet. In order to hold an animal, CHS will collect a $25.00 deposit that will hold an animal until 5:30 p.m. the next business day. If it is a Saturday, the hold will be until the following Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. When a deposit is used to hold an animal, the hold fee will be deducted from the adoption fee. The deposit is non-refundable nor is it transferable to other animals.
