Moose came into the shelter a little over a year ago with a very aggressive soft tissue sarcoma and a short timeline. Because of this, he was deemed a hospice patient, and just needed someone to see him through for a few months till he got to the rainbow bridge. It didn't take long for this meatball to earn a spot on someone's couch (and bed) due to his uber-charismatic and loveable personality, but shortly after, something obvious was happening. Every day he had more energy, appetite, and enthusiasm, until more scans were performed about nine months after his diagnosis, and no sign of cancer was found! This is great news for him, but his current foster can no longer give him the support and care he requires. <br/><br/>Moose comes when called, is eager to please, and looks to his human for direction. He loves being out on the town and exploring. He walks very well on leash with no pulling. He is very good with cats and, when in a relaxed environment, good with some other dogs. <br/><br/>Moose requires a safety-conscious home. He experiences severe panic during thunderstorms and may attempt to escape when frightened if left alone. He is an exceptionally clever and determined escape artist and has demonstrated the ability to open doors and windows to get outside, which can result in damage to property when he is determined to get out. His family will need to be proactive about securing the home and supervising him during situations that may trigger an escape attempt. He cannot be crated, as his determination to escape could put him at risk of injury to himself. While thunderstorms are his most signficant trigger, Moose has also demonstrated that he may attempt to find his own way out simply because he has decided he wants to explore. In these escape ventures, he usually doesn't stray far and is well within line of sight from the point of escape.
