MOOSE $200's Story
Moose is a 7.5-year-old Shih Tzu, weighing in at a perfect 16 pounds of fluff, personality, and love. He currently lives peacefully with two cats and does just fine sharing his space—he’s a gentleman like that.

Moose has a confident, spunky personality and isn’t shy about knowing what he wants. He enjoys playtime and nice long walks, but once he’s had his fun, his favorite place is right by your side, soaking up snuggles and giving plenty of affection in return. He’s great with other dogs, friendly with people, and takes his job as “neighborhood watch” very seriously—if something seems suspicious outside, Moose will make sure you know about it!

This little guy would thrive in a home where he gets lots of attention, which he happily repays with unlimited kisses and top-tier body- and foot-warming services. Moose is very affectionate without being overly needy and would make a wonderful companion for an individual or family looking for a loyal best friend.

Moose previously lived with children and was deeply loved by a young boy who was his person. Sadly, after the family experienced the unimaginable loss of their son, the weight of grief became overwhelming. In the midst of their sorrow, Moose also lost the child who loved him most and wasn’t able to receive the attention he deserved.

Now, Moose is ready for a new chapter—one filled with love, stability, and a family who will cherish him as much as he cherishes them. He has so much love left to give and is patiently waiting for the home where he truly belongs.

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$375+tax for ages 4-7
$275+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs.
