Moon's Story

ADOPTION PENDING!!!

Say Hi to Moon!

Moon is a beautiful almost 3-year-old black triAustralian Shepherd with one brown eye, one blue eye, and a happy, loving personality to match. At 58 pounds, this friendly girl is ready for a fresh start with a family who can give her the time, exercise, structure, and care she deserves.

Moon is currently near Richmond, VA.

Moon has been loved since she was a puppy and is being rehomed due to financial hardship. Her family wants the very best for her, so they turned to ARMA for help finding Moon a home that can give her the attention, activity, and routine care she deserves.

Moon loves people and wants to be where the attention is. Her owner says she would be the worst guard dog because she would happily welcome anyone into the house if they pet her. She is friendly with adults, has done well with children, and is also friendly with other dogs. She has not been exposed to cats.

This smart girl is housebroken and crate trained, though these days she has her own room where she sleeps and can come and go freely. She knows several commands, including sit, stay, wait, no jump, and inside. Moon is eager, trainable, and very people-focused, but she will need continued leash work, as she does pull on walks.

Moon enjoys zoomies in the yard, playing fetch, and would love a family that can help her enjoy regular exercise. She has not had as much activity as an Aussie needs, so an active home and a fenced yard would be ideal. She would likely enjoy walks, hikes, playtime, training, and being included in daily family life.

Moon has no reported resource guarding, no nipping, rarely barks, and is comfortable being touched and handled. Because she is still young, energetic, and very eager for attention, she may be happiest in a home where she can be the focus and get the time she has been missing.

Moon is healthy and up to date on her rabies vaccine, but she does need to be spayed and brought current on any remaining vaccinations. ARMA is offering Moon as a foster-to-adopt so we can cover those medical costs for her new family and give her time to be spayed and recover before adoption is finalized.

We think the right family will be absolutely over the moon for this special girl.

If you are an approved ARMA adopter, please reach out to the volunteer with whom you've been working. If you would like to be approved to adopt Moon, please fill out the application on our website: [www.aussierescueofthemidatlantic.org] (http://www.aussierescueofthemidatlantic.org/)
