Monty is a 1-year-old Shih Tzu/Mini Poodle mix. He may be a little 8lb guy, but don't tell him that! Monty is mostly house trained, smart, and highly treat-motivated — hell happily show off for you if snacks are involved. Monty absolutely loves his ball and is always ready for some fun playtime. He gets along well with other dogs but would also be happy to be your one and only as long as you're willing to walk him twice a day for a good 25-30 minute brisk walk or take him to daycare. This little curly nugget has a lot of enery. He currently gets it out playing with his foster siblings. No cats for this guy, though. <br/><br/>If youre looking for a fun, spunky little companion who LOVES playtime and has a BIG personality, Monty might be your perfect match!<br/><br/>Monty came to us starved so it's been a long road to get him healthy. He is still on a protocol of Proviable DC daily to keep his gastrointestinal system healthy. He will also require a higher end food without a lot of fillers to support this recovery. Monty currently eats Fromm Classics Whitefish and Rice. In addition, Monty is completely freaked out by the groomer and we believe his first groom was with us. He will need someone willing to find the right groomer with multiple visits to acclimate him. We've worked very closely with one of our groomers who has magical energy to get Monty okay with the grooming process. Monty is not great about consistently handling his buisness on a leash so a fenced yard is a plus! Due to his rough beginning, Monty does have resource guarding issues with food and toys but, it's easily managed using trades with high value treats. Little kids have too many toys that end up on the ground for Monty to grab and guard so an adults only household is best. <br/><br/>Note: GA adoptions within two hours of metro Atlanta only.
