Monte's Story
How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a community member on February 24, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Monte, a cuddly, goofy guy who is still learning about the world but has been steadily gaining confidence! He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but with a bit of patience he warms up and begins to show his gentle and affectionate side. Once comfortable, Monte enjoys receiving pets and spending time near his people. He has shown a sweet, calm demeanor and continues to grow more confident as he builds trust. Monte also walks nicely on leash, making him a great companion for daily walks and outdoor time. With continued positive experiences and encouragement, he has all the potential to thrive. Monte would do well in a patient home that can give him time to adjust and continue helping him grow into the happy, playful dog he is becoming. Come meet him today! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!
Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

Monte has been chosen as an Employee Pick!
