Montay's Story
Montay
5 years old
Neutered male
French Bulldog
20-25 lbs

As much as we hate it, the most perfect boy in the whole world is finally ready to start the search for an equally perfect forever home. He's had quite the journey, so be ready to follow along!

We pulled Montay from a shelter in GA back in January. He is paralyzed in his hind end and incontinent, making him a diaper dog. We had him neutered and his nose fixed to make it a bit easier for him to breathe in February, and we opted for a 4dx test to be sure he didn't have any tick-borne illnesses since the shelter only tested for heartworm. Much to our surprise, he was now heartworm positive. Unfortunately a dog can test negative if they were exposed to heartworm less than 3 months prior to being tested, which we believe to be the case with him

So, after recovering from the neuter, he started a lengthy journey to treat his heartworm. During that time, he learned to spinal walk! So while he is still technically paralyzed in the hind end, he uses his back legs to get around about 80% of the time. His mobility may continue to improve, but he will still remain incontinent and rely on diapers. He's now heartworm free and ready for adoption!

We won't beat around the bush - Frenchie's are a genetic dumpster fire to begin with and this guy has had everything in under the sun wrong with him. He has no nose, can't be outside in intense heat for extended periods, and needs AC in the house. But he is the sweetest, happiest pup with an incredible personality and we promise he'll make you smile everyday!

Dog/cat friendly
Loves kids
Crate trained
Walks well on leash, fenced yard not required

If youre interested in adopting Montay please complete an application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt
Long distance adoptions considered - must travel to us in the Buffalo, NY area for a meet and greet.

*Please keep in mind that it is time consuming for our volunteers to process applications. We ask that you are sure you are ready to welcome a dog into your home and are seriously interested in adopting BEFORE applying.
