Montana's Story

Montana is a 4-year-old black Heeler mix with springs for legs and a whole lot of personality. He’s neutered, up to date on shots, and always ready for action—especially if a ball is involved. Seriously… throw it once and you’ve made a best friend for life.

This smart cookie is true to his Heeler roots: energetic, focused, and very aware of his personal boundaries. He appreciates having his space respected and would do best in an adult-only home where everyone understands dog manners.

Montana hasn't been around cats as far as we know and are unsure how he feels, and a meet-and-greet with any canine siblings is strongly recommended. With the right match, he’ll thrive as a loyal, playful companion who’s always up for a game of fetch and a good adventure.

If you’re an active, dog-savvy home looking for a smart, bouncy sidekick—Montana might just be your guy.

Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!

Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
