Mone's Story
Meet Your New Best Friend - an 84Pound Black Beauty
Meet Mone, this stunning 84pound Lab/Shepherd mix is as beautiful as her name suggests. With her sleek allblack coat, soulful eyes, and calm, loving presence, she brings to mind the grace and quiet nobility of Black Beauty himself - a gentle spirit with a heart built for connection. AND, a truly stellar ball player for home tennis
ball plus people equals life. You will rarely see her without a ball in her mouth and she is game for games of it all day long.
She is sweet as can be, tender, polite and full of quiet affection. She lights up around people and brings you comfort just by being near you.
She'd thrive with someone who wants a loyal companion to share their days - someone who enjoys walks, soft moments, and a dog who bonds deeply with her people. She would do best as an only dog as she does best with her own space. If there are children in the home, teens would be preferred as that is more consistent with her energy level. She doesn't need to be the center of attention; she simply wants to be by your side, offering warmth, sweetness, and that soulful connection only a truly good dog can give.
*Sleepover feedback: " Mone was a really good girl all weekend! She is housebroken! She ate well, took treats gently - very food motivated. Knows sit, lay down, would roll over to her side. She did well with people including children and men. Dogs seen from a distance were calmly observed"..

Recent Host Feedback: "This was my first time hosting a sleepover and I couldn't have asked for a better guest than Mone! Don't let her size fool you - she's the sweetest, gentlest soul with that a playful, puppy flair. She was great on the car rides, jumping right in my SUV herself and enjoying alternating between smelling out the window and laying down.
She only pottied outside and didn't bother anything she wasn't supposed to. When guests came by (adults/teen), she greeted them happily and calmly, with four paws on the ground. She quickly won them over with her sweet demeanor and playful personality.
Mone LOVES balls! She LOVED spending as much time as possible in the yard playing fetch, usually with two tennis balls at once. She loved long walks, too, and even asked for a second in the evening. We did pass a large group of young children whose energy seemed to be a bit much for her. In all instances, she was easily redirected with a quick "let's go". She was great in the crate, going right in.
She seems to know several commands - she did "sit", "lay down", "touch" and even "speak" with the cutest excitement for the treat that would follow. She's definitely food motivated, which is awesome for any additional training. She also seems to enjoy knowing you're nearby, but isn't overly clingy. And she didn't bark at all, even with multiple people walking around outside the house and yard. With her calm, gentle presence and mastery of the perfect puppy dog eyes and kisses, Mone is going to make an excellent companion!"
