Meet Mona: A Grateful Survivor Ready for Her Forever Home

Breed: Doberman Mix
Age: 10–11 years
Weight: ~70 lbs (after gaining 30 lbs in foster care!)
Status: Available for Adoption

Mona’s Story:
Mona came to S.M.A.R.T. in heartbreaking condition—starved, painfully thin, and suffering from a massive growth on her foot (the size of a tennis ball). She was limping and in obvious pain, a pure case of abuse and neglect. But Mona’s spirit never gave up.

Since arriving, Mona has blossomed with love and care. She’s gained over 30 pounds, had her painful mass removed, and even enjoyed her very first beach walk this week! Through it all, Mona has shown nothing but gratitude for her second chance at life.

Personality:
Mona is a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely deserves to spend her golden years as the center of someone’s world. She’s loving, gentle, and so grateful to be safe. Mona is good with other dogs, especially those who are calm and submissive. With her senior status, she sometimes gets a little cranky, so she’d do best with another mellow senior dog—or as the only pet where she can soak up all the attention and love she missed out on for so long.

Ideal Home:
Quiet, loving environment
Preferably as the only dog, or with a very submissive/senior companion
Someone who values her gentle, grateful nature and wants to make her senior years truly special

Why Adopt Mona?
Mona has survived the worst and is now ready for the best. She’s a good girl who just wants to know what it means to be cherished.
