Molly's Story

Meet Molly, a 5-year-old white shepherd mix with quiet beauty, a thoughtful spirit, and a heart that beats strongest for her fellow dogs. At around 50 pounds, Molly is the perfect medium-sized companion. She’s not your typical “velcro dog,” and that’s exactly what makes her so special. Molly doesn’t seek out constant affection or attention from people. Instead, she prefers to be nearby: part of your world, but on her own terms. She tolerates pets, baths, nail trims, and vet visits, and while she enjoys car rides, she’s not the type to demand your lap or your constant touch.

Where Molly truly shines is in her relationships with other dogs. She is playful, loving, and incredibly respectful, making her the perfect companion dog for another pup, especially one who loves having a friend but may be a little too attached to their humans to easily share the spotlight. Molly understands that balance beautifully. She doesn’t compete for attention, and she brings a calm, steady presence into a multi-dog home.

Molly has wonderful manners to match her easygoing nature. She walks nicely on a leash, is crate trained (and genuinely loves her crate), has no food aggression, and is not a bolter. She’s also cat-friendly and has had training, making her a solid, reliable girl who knows exactly how to exist peacefully in a home.

Molly has been with us for nearly three years, not because she isn’t amazing, but because she doesn’t fit the mold most people think they want. The truth is, Molly is a good dog. An easy dog. A respectful dog. She’s exactly who she is, and she doesn’t need to be changed.

We adore this wonderfully weird little girl and would happily keep her forever, but we know her home is out there. The right home will see her for who she is and love her not in spite of it, but because of it.

If you have a dog who could use a perfectly balanced companion, Molly just might be your girl. Apply to meet her (or, let's be honest, for your dog to meet her) at CRAPrescue.org/application.

And, of course, Molly is fully vetted: up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Molly's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.

Code Red Animal Project Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All of our adoptions are foster-to-adopt, giving adopters the opportunity to have a trial period. We firmly believe that it is impossible to know if a pet will be a good fit for your home based on a brief encounter. A trial period allows you to see the pet in your home as they decompress and find comfort, and introduce them to different situations and settings that are important in your life. Prior to finalizing adoption, we ask that the pet be seen by your vet so that your trusted veterinary team can assess the animal's health, note vaccination records, and prescribe 6-12 months of heartworm prevention (for dogs).
