Meet Moko <br/><br/>Moko is a handsome 2-year-old (approximately 35lb) island boy who made his way all the way from Aruba in search of the life he always deserved. We can’t say exactly what breeds make up this adorable little guy, but our best guess is some terrier and cattle dog mixed with a healthy dose of professional toy enthusiast.<br/><br/>Moko’s life in Aruba wasn’t an easy one. We don’t know everything he experienced before being rescued, but we do know that he came to us carrying some emotional scars. Since then, he has made incredible progress learning that people can be kind, homes can be safe, and life can actually be pretty great.<br/><br/>Moko is very playful, loves toys, loves other dogs, is crate trained, mostly housebroken, and VERY food motivated. Seriously, snacks are the way to this man’s heart. <br/><br/>And speaking of people... Moko has made his preferences known. He is a ladies’ man—and we mean that quite literally. He is significantly more comfortable with women and is looking for a women-only household where he can feel safe and continue building his confidence. Sorry, fellas. It’s not you...it’s Moko. <br/><br/>Once Moko trusts you, an entirely different dog emerges. He is incredibly loving, affectionate, silly, and devoted. His forever person will need to understand that trust may take a little time—but watching this boy realize that he is finally safe and loved is more than worth it.<br/><br/>Moko doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for him. He needs someone willing to show him that his past doesn’t get to decide his future. Someone patient, loving, and committed to helping him continue becoming the happy, confident dog we know is in there.<br/><br/>Moko is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and currently fostered in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Meet-and-greets can be arranged in other locations for the right home.<br/><br/>If you have the love, patience, time—and maybe a well-stocked treat cabinet—to give Moko the life he deserves, he may just be your boy. <br/><br/>His past may have shaped him, but his forever home can change everything.
