Mojo's Story

Meet Mojo!

The world's cuddliest German Shepherd.

After being surrendered to the highest kill shelter in Houston, Mojo found herself on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, volunteers who had met her at the shelter fell in love with her (like everyone who meets her does) and advocated hard for her. Then, an amazing foster family said "yes," saving her life with just minutes to spare.

Since coming into rescue, Mojo has undergone FHO surgery and tackled recovery like a boss. Through every vet visit, every therapy session, and every obstacle placed in front of her, she has held onto the same joyful spirit. She radiates positivity into her foster home. It's electric.

Mojo is the kind of dog who wants to be wherever her people are. Whether it's a road trip, a walk around the neighborhood, or simply relaxing at home, she's happiest when she's part of the adventure and as close to you as possible. She is a big-time stage 5 clinger and, ultimately, the cuddliest little bug. She adores children, loves meeting new people, and has never met a stranger.

Just be warned: sometimes her excitement comes with an affectionate little love nibble as she tries to share just how happy she is to see you. In our opinion, it's adorable but we realize it may not be for everyone.

She's done well around other dogs and has even been respectful of kittens in foster care. With dogs, she does best with a slower, proper introduction. We don't think she'd be a huge dog park girlie.

If you're thinking, "Okay...she sounds perfect." Well, she almost is! Mojo does try to protect her food from other dogs, so she'll need a family willing to continue setting clear boundaries and advocating for her success when it comes to this.

We'd consider Mojo a medium energy gal. She would love a yard or space to run, but she has also been temporarily fostered in an apartment and did great. So, really, she just needs the opportunity to get some exercise and spend time outdoors.

She's potty trained and kennel trained, but she doesn't necessarily need to be kenneled. If left loose in the house, she doesn't destroy anything. She just couch rots and waits for you (her favorite person) to come back home.

She does well on a leash and enjoys walks, though she may occasionally bark at other dogs passing by.

Mojo is one of those once in a lifetime dogs. She wants so badly to be someone's soul dog, and we promised her that is exactly what we will find.

Mojo is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs 61 lbs.

Mojo is being fostered in Houston, Texas, but she is available for adoption in many areas across the country. If you're seeing this post, that means she's available to transport to your area! Her adoption fee is $600, which includes transport. She is fully vetted, spayed, and current on preventatives.

If you think Mojo might be your perfect match, apply today:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DSTR/Dog
