Moe "Roo-Boy" - In Foster's Story

Hi there! I'm Moe, an 84-pound Great Dane mix with a whole lot of goofy charm packed into my big, lanky frame.

Even though I'm an older guy, I bounce through life with a prance in my step and a sparkle in my eye. I've got energy to spare and love nothing more than joining in on playtime with my favorite humans. Honestly, affection is my absolute favorite thing-if you're giving out love, I'm all in.

I lean my whole body into you when you're petting me, and sometimes I'll even slide myself right between your legs just to make sure you don't forget I'm there.

My ears pop up at the silliest noises, and I'll tilt my head the moment I hear those magic words: "You want to go outside?" I just can't help being curious, upbeat, and ready for whatever adventure comes next. But for all my pep and silly antics, I'm also a big softie who adores quiet moments just as much as playtime. After we've had our fun, I'm more than happy to settle in close for a long snuggle-being near my people is truly where I'm happiest.

I melt for butt scratches, love meeting new friends, and honestly believe every person I see is just another opportunity to share my big-hearted affection. I may be a spunky old man, but I've got endless love to give and can't wait to find a home where I can be your loyal shadow, your cuddle buddy, and your biggest, sweetest lover boy.

My adoption fee of $90+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society.

All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.

Happy Adopting!

The adoption process may take up to one hour to complete but we’ll keep it as simple and streamlined as possible. Here are the steps when you’re considering adopting a pet: - Visit our website to see available animals or see them on-site during regular hours, seven days a week. - When you find a dog, cat or small animal you would like to spend more time with, simply call the Humane Society of the Black Hills at (605) 394-4170 for an appointment. - Occasionally, our team is able to accommodate walk-ins, but as we cannot guarantee them, it is best to call for an appointment. -During your scheduled appointment, an adoption advisor will review the animal's history with you and bring the animal to meet you for an initial visit. - A second appointment may be made for you for a variety of reasons (Ex. You have a dog at home you'd like to bring in to meet the pet next). -Once you have met a pet that you think is your perfect match and you have been approved to adopt, your adoption advisor will take you through the adoption process, and you can take your new family member home!
