Mochi - LOCAL's Story

Mochi is a sweet, resilient 8-month-old beauty with the most unforgettable eyes -- one warm brown and one stunning half-brown, half-blue. They perfectly capture her unique spirit.

After bravely overcoming severe mange and infections -- and spending a month in the hospital fighting her way back to health -- Mochi is now happy, playful, and thriving. Her coat has grown back beautifully, and she's blossoming more every day in her foster home.

Mochi is smart, treat-motivated, and eager to learn. She's currently working on building her confidence and practicing sit, down, wait, stay, heel and come. With consistency and encouragement, she continues to grow braver and more confident.

She loves routine, outdoor play, and cozy snuggles. Because food wasn't always guaranteed early on, she's still learning to trust that meals are consistent -- but she shows no aggression with people.

Mochi would do best with an active home that enjoys walks, runs, or hikes and can continue guiding her confidence journey. Older children would be a great match for her playful energy.

After everything she's overcome, Mochi is ready for her forever family -- one who will cherish her as much as she'll adore them.

Breed: Cross Breed - will be a big dog
Sex: Female
Age: DOB 6/30/2025
Weight: 50lbs as of 1/25/26
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Heartworm: Negative
Housetrained: Working on it
Microchipped: Yes

Location of dog currently: New England

Puppy Adoption Fee: $450.00

The adoption fee also includes the transport fee when applicable

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience. This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.

PLEASE--Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life.
