Mochi

Meet Mochi! <br/><br/>Mochi has had a tough go at life so far. Growing up in and out of shelters, failed time and time again at no fault of her own. Mochi comes from a high kill shelter in Houston, TX where she was set to be euthanized at only 9 months old!! She is now with us in Iowa and it is our mission to find her a safe and loving, forever home. <br/><br/>Mochi is an approximate 1 year old, female, Lab/Husky mix — or what we like to call a “Labsky”! She will also go by her nicknames “Mooch” or “Moochi”. Mochi is a lovable, loyal, friendly, and silly girl who loves affection. She has beautiful blue eyes and a soft/short cream colored coat. She has typical moderate-high lab/husky energy and loves to go on walks. She will also hangout on the couch while you watch a movie or take a nap and she LOVES to snuggle. She also enjoys sleeping with her humans at night. Mochi has a silly husky personality and will tell you what’s on her mind at times with her husky “talk”. Mochi is house/potty and crate trained. She is learning to go in her crate on her own, but still needs to be directed. Once she is in, she behaves well. Mochi knows basic commands such as sit, down, stay, and shake! She is working on leash training/“heel” and does best with a martingale prong collar during walks/training. She is super smart, catches on quick, and is treat motivated. She does great in the car and loves to go for rides around the farm in the side by side. Mochi shared a foster home in Texas with children and did great, although we would recommend dog savvy children 10 years or older at this time due to her size and energy. She also does great with guests and LOVES people. Mochi is good with other dogs, but does best with submissive dogs that are of similar size and energy as her. She is very forward and loves to play, but can play rough at times with other dogs. Mochi will need a fenced in yard so she is able to run around and burn off energy. She would prefer a home without cats or other small animals at this time. She enjoys frozen filled kongs, chewing on elk antlers, and playing fetch with her stuffy toys. Mochi would love to be someone’s hiking or walking buddy and would do best with an active adopter/family. She has been doing great in her foster home with consistency and patience - something she’s never had in her short life. <br/><br/>Mochi has been in basic obedience training and will continue training until adopted. Prior dog experience is required. Mochi will come with her training collars, harness, and favorite chews. Mochi is spayed, current on vaccines/monthly preventative, and microchipped.
