Mochi's Story

Mochi is looking for a new home after his previous family welcomed a baby. Despite their efforts to help him adjust to this big change, Mochi became increasingly uncomfortable and anxious around the newborn. His family ultimately made the difficult decision to find him a home better suited to his needs, where he can feel comfortable, secure, and loved.

Ideal family:

Mochi is a sweet “grumpy gentleman” who would thrive in a calm, adult-only home where he can be the one and only pet. He’s a big baby at heart who loves walks, playing fetch, butt scratches, and cuddling on the couch for some TV time. He’s also very smart and knows many commands in English! A condo or apartment is perfectly fine for Mochi, as long as he gets plenty of love, attention, and quality time with his people.

Personality:

Affectionate

Intelligent

Playful

Loyal

Guard dog

Quick learner

Anxious

Insecure

Foodie

Working dog

Possessive

Good Companion

Energetic

Active

Love to give kisses and cuddle

Physical characteristics:

Male

6.5 years old

Mini goldendoodle

32 lbs

Medium coat

Zero shedding

Social levels:

Good with people

Selective with dogs

Not good with cats

Good with adolescents (10+)

Activity levels:
Medium (60-120 minutes per day)

Loves to:

Play fetch

Walk

Hike

Bike

Play with toys

Training levels:

Basic obedience

Potty trained

Leash trained

Recall

“Bed” command

What they need to work on:

Dog selectivity

Leash reactivity to other dogs

Resource guarding his belongings from other dogs

Insecure (especially around children)

Sensitive to physical manipulation

Medical Characteristics:

Vaccinated ( DHPP, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Rabies)

Parasite prevention

Microchipped

Sterilised

Adoption Fee: $695

Medical procedures: Vaccinations, Sterilised, Microchip, Prevention Medication (tick and flea)

Basic supplies

Medical booklet

Informational guide

Support group with Passion for Paws team during adoption trial
