Mocha's Story
Meet Mocha!
Mocha is a beautiful 5-year-old female Dachshund with a stunning long silver dapple coat and an even sweeter personality.
Mocha was originally released by a breeder and found her forever home about a year ago. Unfortunately, nearly a month ago she was surrendered back to Heart due to some separation-related issues. She had rarely been alone and had developed a very strong bond with her mom.
Since returning to foster care, weve been working on nurturing Mochas independence—and she has done amazing from day one!
Mocha is an incredibly sweet and kissy girl who would happily be loved and pampered all day long. However, too much constant attention can make it harder for her when she needs to be separated from her person. For Mocha, kenneling when her people are away and at night is what works best, and she is doing wonderfully with that routine. She is very low-maintenance, and her successful foster routine will be shared with her future adopter to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
Mochas highlights:
Not a single indoor accident since arriving in foster care!
Does well with other dogs
Friendly with everyone she has met
A little nervous around louder, very active children
Sweet, affectionate and easygoing
Thriving with her independence-building routine
Mocha does have a near zero pain tolerance, so nail trims require a muzzle, and grooming needs to be done very gently to avoid pulling on any snarls or tangles.
A securely fenced yard would be preferred, and a home with Dachshund experience.
Mocha has already shown us just how much she can thrive with the right structure and routine. Now shes looking for a forever family who understands her needs, respects her boundaries, and will love her for the special little Dachshund she is.
Could Mocha be your girl?
Mochas adoption fee is $300.
