Moana's Story

Meet Moana! This sweet 7-year-old girl may be a little more mature, but don't let her age fool you-she still has plenty of playful energy and loves having fun!

Moana has done wonderfully with other dogs and would likely do well with a canine companion in her forever home. She may also be able to live happily with cats, and we think she could be a great fit for a family with older kids-or she could be perfectly content being your one and only!

Moana does have Addison's disease, but it's a condition she manages very well. Her treatment is simple and convenient: she gets one injection once a month, and the injection can be given right at home, so there's no need for a monthly trip to the vet for her medication. The medication is also relatively inexpensive, making her ongoing care very manageable. To make her transition into her new home even easier, HHS will provide her monthly injections for the remainder of 2026!

Moana is doing so well and doesn't let her Addison's slow her down one bit. She's playful, sweet, and ready to find the people who will love her for all that she is. Sometimes the best things come in a slightly more seasoned package-and Moana is proof of that!
