Mitzy's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mitzy is a 10-year-old Miniature Pinscher mix weighing about 16 lbs, and she’s the total package — sweet, social, and smart. She came to CVRR through no fault of her own after her owner passed away, leaving her alone for over a week. When she arrived, she had chewed the fur off her tail and back and scratched herself hairless on her chest, but with love and care, she’s healing beautifully — inside and out.

Mitzy is super affectionate and happiest when she’s close to her person. She loves to snuggle on the sofa, burrow under blankets (true to her Min Pin roots!), and follow you from room to room. She’s crate trained and finds comfort with the door open but can get anxious if left alone too long with it closed.

She’s very intelligent and a quick study, picking up on training quickly and doing great with her routines. She’s also doing well with potty training, though she prefers to stay cozy indoors when it’s raining. Mitzy enjoys gentle non-shampoo baths twice a week to keep her skin and coat healthy.

Don’t let her age fool you — Mitzy loves a nice walk and a good play session but also adores downtime curled up next to you. She’s very social and wants to say hello to everyone she meets — people, dogs, and even cats! She does great with kids, though since she can get a bit “mouthy” when playing, she’d do best with children over 6 years old.

After all she’s been through, Mitzy is ready for a forever home where she’ll be cherished and never left behind again. She’s a loyal, loving little companion who’ll reward her new family with endless affection and devotion. ❤ï ̧

This dog's adoption fee is $250.
