Mitt's Story

At approximately 2 years old and just over 20 pounds, Mitt is currently in foster care in Terlingua. She is the perfect combination of adventure buddy and professional couch companion. Whether it's a hike, a canoe trip, a road trip, or simply curling up beside you for a nap, Mitt is happy to be part of whatever you're doing. This sweet girl is house-trained, leash-trained, non-reactive, and has excellent recall. She's the kind of dog who makes life easy. Quiet, well-mannered, and comfortable being left on her own, Mitt settles beautifully into a routine and enjoys the simple pleasures in life, especially treats!

Mitt has been fostered with a whole crew of dogs, both larger and smaller than she is, and gets along wonderfully with everyone. She also shares her foster home peacefully with four resident cats. While her experience with children has been limited, she has been comfortable and gentle during her interactions. We think she'd be equally happy joining a home with other pets or soaking up all the attention as your one-and-only. While Mitt can be described as slightly shy, she is not anxious and gains confidence quickly once she feels at home. Her favorite place to sleep is tucked into bed with her foster family, and she loves being close to her people.

After raising a litter of five puppies and being a wonderful mom, Mitt is ready for the next chapter of her life: being someone's beloved best friend. If you're looking for a loyal, easygoing companion who's always up for an adventure but never says no to a cuddle, Mitt might just be your perfect match.

Thank you for considering an OTAT-WTX rescue! All pets are living in foster homes, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines.

If you are interested in adopting, or for more information, please visit our website: https://otatwtx.org/adopt
