Mitch's Story
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State. We are a local foster home based rescue.

Mitch is a tender hearted little guy who is dreaming of a forever family. He is a gentle soul who will melt your heart with just one look. Here is what his foster mom has to say about Mitch....

"Mitch is a gentle, laid-back, follow-the-pack sort of boy who draws confidence from the dogs around him. He is learning to be brave, and learning that when he puts himself "out there," he is rewarded with love and affection. Mitch loves his soft crate (door left open) and fluffy dog beds. He tends to become his person's shadow - for example, he likes to lie in his crate next to my desk while I work. Mitch's perfect family would have another dog or two to continue to build his confidence, although with the right patient family, he could be a single dog.
Mitch likes to run out the door to the yard with the pack - as soon as the door opens, it's a race to see who can make it to the grass first. He has an adorable pep in his step that conveys happiness, and loves the outdoor smells and exploring at a moseying pace."

Mitch has met and enjoyed the children in his foster home and would be happy with children who are kind and respectful towards animals. We don't know his history with cats but his calm demeanor tells us he would be fine. Mitch has successfully learned proper potty manners in his foster home and is learning more every day, however, he will need a home that will continue with a predictable routine while he adapts to his new surroundings.

Mitch recently received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork. He also received a dental with a full mouth extraction. Mitch has been diagnosed with bilateral luxating patellas, grade 3 on his left knee and grade 2 on his right knee. He has good mobility and gets around with a pep in his step, therefore, surgery is not warranted. Mitch is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. He is 10 years old and weighs 9 pounds.

Please note, we have approximately a 200 mile adoption radius from Stanwood WA for our Senior Dogs. Save-A-Mutt may limit this distance based on the long term needs of this pet. We dont adopt out of state except to the Vancouver BC area. We dont ship dogs. Once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up their dog. For questions about this dog please call Elizabeth Woche, Senior and Special Needs Dog Coordinator, at 425-974-9479
