Pregnant and out of options, she waited patiently for a rescue to step in. Thankfully, she made it to her foster home just in time. Within eight hours of arrival, Missy went into labor and ultimately required an emergency C-section to safely deliver her puppies.<br/><br/>Because of the emergency surgery, Missy was spayed at the same time. Since then, she's devoted herself to raising nine healthy puppies, proving what an incredible mother she is. Soon, her babies will be ready to spread their wings, and Missy will finally be ready for a home of her own.<br/><br/>Missy is heartworm negative, healthy, and ready to begin her next chapter.<br/><br/>Like many German Shepherds, Missy takes her job of protecting her family seriously. She bonds deeply with her people and loves them wholeheartedly, but she can be wary of strangers and has a very impressive guard dog bark. Because of this, we are looking for a home without young children that can respect her boundaries and allow her time to build trust with new people.<br/><br/>When she's not keeping watch over her family, Missy enjoys one of her favorite activities: swimming. Give this girl a pool and she's happy! She may be a 2018 model, but she's still young at heart and ready for adventures.<br/><br/>Missy is looking for a home that understands and appreciates the loyal, devoted nature of a German Shepherd.
