I am 4 years old and unfortunately had to leave the family I loved since birth on my 4th birthday. My family had to give me up because they had lost their jobs and could not have dogs in the apartment they had to move into. I’m an average sized female with a little extra weight, about 60 lbs to be exact. I am spayed, up to date on my shots, and microchipped. My parents believe that I have a type of eczema on my skin (little black spots), but the vet assured them that it wasn’t critical; it needs to be watched, but not treated.

I am a very friendly bully, but a little too forward and I tend to get carried away with my manners. This tends to intimate other animals, I’m not aggressive with them, but I don’t know how to act around them. I don’t mind so much when my foster canine brother tries to put me in my place, I usually just ignore him, but I’m not to sure what those cat things are yet and I like to bark at them and try to chase them. I also am a very vocal bully. I tend to bark a lot while I’m in my crate or think I’m left alone, but my foster mom is working hard at fixing this problem and so far she thinks I’ve improved.

And I’ve got to tell you how much I love, love, love attention. Whenever I see people I get so excited my body flails around and I just can’t wait for you to pet me! I absolutely love to be pet, have my butt scratched and even oh, I LOVE belly rubs! Those are my favorite. And did I tell you how much I like fruit, I didn’t really get any “dog” treats with my parents, they treated me with apples, bananas and other fruits. I also like long walks on the beach, or wherever you’re willing to walk me. I go on two mile walks a day with my foster parents and can I tell you how big of a smile I have on my face while I’m walking, just try to walk me early in the morning of in the evening so I don’t over heat.

I am a 100% potty trained bully; I have absolutely no problem holding on until you get home. I don’t want to mess in the place I call home. I won’t even eat until you get home so I don’t have any accidents. I am crate trained but I would prefer to be in a home where someone is home most of the day, I am very vocal about this fact, when I’m left alone I don’t like it, and I let everyone know. My foster family is working with me on my barking issues and is training me basic commands. Within the first couple days I’ve been with them I’ve learned how to sit, lay down and get down on command, all with positive rewards though, but like my foster mom says “this is a working process”. Even though my foster mom has been training me, I would still love to take an obedience/training class with my new family.

I get along with dogs just fine, I tend to ignore them more that anything, I grew up with another bully in my house, but those cat things are another story. My foster mom thinks I’m more curious about them than anything, but we’re going to take this one slowly. We don’t know how I interact with kids, but my parents said that I moderately get along with them, so for now, I’d like a home with older children. I’d also like a home with a big fenced in back yard like I had, I just love to run around and burn off the terrier energy I have in me. I’d also like a home far away from busy traffic, I love to chase cars and this could be a problem.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about me.

Love,

Missy

NOTE FROM THE HUMANS

Missy’s Adoption Fee is $550.
