Missy's Story

Missy has been with us for quite some time now, and we're really hoping her next update is the one where she's finally home.
She originally came to our Conshohocken facility as a stray and was adopted early on. Unfortunately, she was returned after just three days when she was able to escape from a fenced yard, and her adopters were worried for her safety. After not getting much additional interest, she was transferred to our Perkiomenville location in hopes that a change of scenery might help her get noticed.
Recently, one of our wonderful volunteers gave Missy a much-needed break from the kennel and welcomed her into their home for the week - and it gave us a glimpse of who Missy truly is outside of the shelter.
And it's a good one.
In the home, Missy settled in nicely. She got along with the resident dog, worked on crate training, and was doing well with housebreaking when kept on a consistent routine. More than anything, she showed just how much she enjoys being in a home environment.
The photos you're seeing? That's Missy relaxed. Comfortable. Herself.
A sweet, snuggly dog who just wants to be near her people and be part of a home again.
Shelter life can make it hard to showcase a dog like Missy, but in a home, she truly shines.
