Miso's Story
Meet Miso, a sweet one-year-old Chiweenie mix with a story that will tug at your heartstrings. This resilient little guy was found fending for himself on the streets of Southeast Louisiana, scrounging for scraps and just trying to survive. His journey led him to a shelter, where he was understandably terrified and overwhelmed. After a week of fear, he was thankfully pulled by one rescue and then found his way to us, ready for his next chapter.
Miso is a shy and sensitive soul who needs a patient and understanding family. His past has made him a bit timid at first, but with a little time and gentle reassurance, he truly blossoms. Once he feels safe, he'll be showering you with cuddles and affection, proving himself to be the most devoted companion. He's also a big fan of toys and loves spending time outdoors, enjoying the simple pleasures of being a dog. While he seems to be okay with other dogs, Miso would thrive in a home with fewer furry friends, allowing him to truly relax and connect with his people. He's still working on becoming a fan of his kennel, but we're making progress every day. Good news - he's pretty much house-trained! Miso is searching for a quiet home, ideally away from the hustle and bustle of city noises that tend to frighten him. A low-traffic environment where he can decompress and adjust at his own pace is essential. Give him the time, the patience, and the understanding he deserves, and Miso will undoubtedly become your most loyal and cherished best friend. He's ready to leave his past behind and embrace a future filled with love, comfort, and the gentle rhythm of a forever home. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and is heartworm negative. Are you ready to offer Miso the quiet, loving home he deserves?

PLEASE READ BELOW:

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet.
