MISO's Story
Miso is a 6-year-old spayed female Shiba Inu looking for a calm, patient home where she can truly feel safe. She’s a sensitive and independent girl with a gentle spirit, but she can be quite nervous in new situations and is considered a flight risk, so she needs an experienced and understanding adopter.

Miso startles easily with loud noises and sudden movements, and her first instinct when overwhelmed may be to run. Because of this, she will need a home that takes safety seriously—secure doors, windows, and outdoor spaces are a must, and she should always be walked on a well-fitted harness and leash (double-leashing is even better).

She thrives in quiet, low-traffic environments and would do best in a home without young children or other dog. Miso does not love to share her belongings with other dogs, therefore a home where she can thrive as the only dog would be the most ideal. An owner with experience handling shy or anxious dogs—especially independent breeds like Shibas—will help her succeed. While she may take time to warm up, once she trusts you, Miso can form a deeply loyal and meaningful bond.

Miso will benefit from patience, gentle handling, and positive reinforcement training to help build her confidence. A predictable routine and a calm home will go a long way in helping her feel secure.

She is spayed and up to date on core care. At this time, there are no known major medical concerns.

Miso may not be the dog who immediately runs up to greet you—but for the right person, she has so much quiet love to give. If you’re willing to go at her pace and give her the stability she needs, Miso could be an incredibly rewarding companion. ??
