Once you're in her circle, Mishka becomes a total cuddle bug and velcro dog, happiest when she's close to her favourite person. She loves attention and has an adorable habit of pawing the air when she'd like some extra pets. As her confidence has grown, so has her playful side - when she plays with toys, she doesn't just chase them, she bounces and pounces with enthusiasm, making it impossible not to smile. It's her safe space, and she's perfectly content relaxing there when left home alone. She has no separation anxiety and settles beautifully on her own. She already knows cues like sit and wait, patiently holding her position while her meals are prepared. Mishka currently lives with a small dog and has done well sharing her home, and she has met other dogs neutrally on walks. One of the most rewarding things about Mishka is watching her work through her fears. She's naturally curious and, while new things may initially make her nervous, she's often brave enough to investigate them and learn they're not so scary after all. Recently, she's discovered that she loves walks, and as her confidence continues to grow, she's started showing a more energetic and adventurous side.<br/><br/>Mishka would do best in a quieter suburban neighbourhood where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. She can be fearful when meeting new people and is especially fearful of men. Because of this, she would thrive in a home with women, or a home with both women and men where everyone understands that earning her trust will take time, patience, and consistency. Men should expect that she may initially be reactive or display intimidating behaviours, but these responses come from fear.
