Miranda 's Story
Breed: Terrier / Dachshund mix
Age: 2 yrs.
Weight: 23 lbs.
Good with dogs: yes
Good with cats: unsure
Good with kids: unsure
Energy level: unsure
Good with men/strangers: yes
Hypoallergenic: no

Special home requirements or medical: none

Additional info:

Miranda is a caramel colored, 23 lb lowrider! From the ground to the top of her shoulders, she is only 13" and about 20" long from her chest to her hips. Her fur is short and straight. Miranda came to us from the shelter along with her 7 puppies and has recently been spayed.

She's quiet, pensive and very trusting of humans. No issues with men. She's never shown any signs of aggression except for a low growl and can be very submissive if someone exercises authority. Her immediate reaction is to lay down and show her belly!

Miranda can be skittish on the leash at first but once she feels comfortable with her surroundings, she is a wonderful walker and sticks by your side. She can be spooked by other dogs though. I would recommend going on as many outings as possible. Bonus - she doesn't dig!

Food is Miranda's love language! While she's never shown food aggression towards another dog, it's clear that she's never had enough and will attempt to eat from other bowls. She also has a super nose and will find those candy wrappers if you leave them in your pocket or on the counter!

Miranda has not been cat tested but has been living with a family with loud teens, a grumpy senior dachshund and a high anxiety Terrier. The Terrier has taught Miranda that gardeners with blowers are not to be trusted, and humans must be alerted by barking. The Terrier has also taught Miranda how to use a doggy door and a pee pad. She is successful on both tasks and rarely has any accidents. She will sometimes poke at the door if it's locked.

Miranda is estimated to be around 2 yrs old and is ready for her forever home!

If you are not ready to adopt just yet and would like to help in other ways, please consider clicking on the green “Sponsor Me” button above to help this dog receive the best care we can give.
