HOW DID MIRA GET HERE? Mira came to us through another organization. She is ready to find a forever home! PERSONALITY: - Food motivated - Loves people and very affectionate - Loves to just hang out with her people in the home - Can be low energy and calm in the home and not always super rambunctious - Playful and goofy - Loves stuffies and squeaky toys - Some dog selectivity and not suitable for dog parks or all dog friends - Decent walker on leash, but can be strong - House trained! WHAT TYPE OF HOME IS MIRA LOOKING FOR? - Suitable for a first time owner as long as they understand her selectivity with dogs - Any type of dwelling with easy access to outside - 12+ with only adults walking her - Could live with a well matched dog that is calm and tolerant - no pushy dogs - A home with NO cats (she has a prey drive!) - A home excited to continue training! OUR CONTACTLESS ADOPTION PROCESS Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from the Oakville & Milton Humane Society! In response to the challenges the shelter has been facing with COVID-19, we are limiting interactions between the public and our staff in order to help stop the spread. This means that interested adopters will not be permitted to view the animals in person. For those looking to adopt a dog or a puppy, an opportunity will be given to meet with the dog or puppy prior to adoption after a successful phone meeting with the best matched applicant. Introductions to any current dogs or puppies in the household will also be arranged to ensure the dog or puppy is a good fit for the family. The Oakville & Milton Humane Society strives to find great matches for both the animals and those looking to adopt them. The first step to finding that match is for you is to view the adoptable animals on on the following webpage: https://omhs.ca/adopt/ Once you have found an animal who you would like to adopt, please complete and submit an Adoption Application. Please only apply for one pet at a time (or two if you are looking to adopt a pair). Your Adoption Application cannot be processed unless you indicate which animal you are applying for. If you express interest in multiple animals, the Adoptions department will only be able to process for the first animal listed.
