Minnie in MO's Story

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home.

My name is Minnie. I am 2 years 7 months old and weigh about 13 pounds. I need a new home because I was released from a breeder. I am being fostered in Kansas City, MO.

I am a good loveable girl who is still very shy from my life as a breeder. I will learn to love quickly with your help. I get along well with my pug brother in my foster home. I have the energy of a 2 year old and do some zoomies and will learn to love playing fetch or some game in the yard. I would love to have a playmate.

I will follow you wherever you go. I love affection and will give it back to you.
I sleep in a kennel but would love to transition to your bed as soon as I learn my manners. If you have to leave for a bit I won’t protest staying in my kennel and probably need to be restricted with no one at home.

I do not love taking a bath but will tolerate it but I do love being a clean girl. I can go up and down steps without a problem, I’m just a little slow until I feel more confident. My main focus at this time is learning to go potty outside. I have no issues once I am in the yard.

I am a great girl but still very shy and need time in a home environment to come out of my shell. I don’t like fast hands coming toward me from above and I will lower to the floor if I feel threatened. I have a little puppy energy and will steal your shoes or anything on the floor. It is my first experience being in a home.

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? Working on it
Leash-trained? I only walk if I want to but work on the leash every day.
Rides well in the car? Yes, but needs more exposure
Good with other dogs? Yes
Good with cats? Unknown
Good with young children? Older kids would be great. I am tiny and do not want to be stepped on.
Good with strangers? I’m still shy.
Shy or confident? Shy but doing very well.
Barks? Not often and is pretty quiet.
Apartment qualified? Yes
Any Special needs or Health Issues? None
Adoption fee? $ 450

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.

If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application

Petfinder's form is NOT our application.
