Minnie's Story

MEET MINNIE the Malti-Tzu!!!
North New Jersey

Minnie is a 2-year-old, 9 lb. female white and gray Maltese – Shih Tzu mix. She is a tiny little thing, extremely sweet and LOVES being with her people. She gets attached quickly to her person and enjoys playing with toys, chewing on nylabones, playing with other pups her size, and romping around in the yard.

She was surrendered when her owner needed to go into hospice due to cancer. She was clearly loved and well cared for. She is used to having free roam of the house and will not use a crate or tolerate being confined. She is a good girl and needs a home where the pups are fully integrated with the humans. She also slept with her owner in her bed and clearly prefers that. Her foster mom has been working on breaking this habit.

Minnie has been brought UTD, spayed, HW negative, chipped, and housebroken. She did well at the vet and our groomer.

She can be an “only dog” since she prefers people over dogs but she would do really well with another doggie (or more) her size and energy level.

Adoption donation is $550.

TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION
We only process complete applications and providing false information immediately disqualifies you from adopting.
https://gingerbreaddogs.org/adopt-overview/adoption-application/

Please follow our Facebook page to see new dogs as they arrive and to keep up on the daily shenanigans:
https://www.facebook.com/gingerbreaddogs

ABOUT OUR PROCESS:
WE ONLY CONTACT APPLICANTS WITH WHOM WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. We typically get in touch within 24-48 hours, but it may take up to 10 days. Please watch your email and answer your phone (from 201 area code) after you submit an application. Unfortunately, we do not have the manpower to reply to all applicants.

We also do not have the manpower to accept phone calls. Everything we know about the dog is posted above. Our adoption process is on our website. You can see more about our daily operations on our Facebook page.

PLEASE give your vet office permission to speak with rescues if you are applying to adopt from any rescue. Ask them to mark your file. If they will not speak with us, we will move on to the next application and you will not be considered.

We consider out-of-area adoptions on a case-by-case basis. All meet & greets and adoptions are held in north New Jersey, and we do not transport our pups. You must come to NJ. We also do not “hold” dogs. It is “first qualified, first come” and our expectation is you will move quickly to conduct the meet & greet if you are approved. An approved application does not guarantee adoption of any dog from our rescue, and we reserve the right to deny adoption at any point during the process.
