Milton Darigold's Story

When Milton's owner relocated, this 9-year-old sweetheart was left in the care of his aging parents. Sadly, they were unable to manage the needs of a large dog, and, making the best decision they could for Milton, they surrendered him to the San Diego Humane Society. From there, he joined Frosted Faces Foundation and recently enjoyed a Frosted Fling, where we learned how Milton is in a home setting.

His foster dad shared, "Milton is mellow, affectionate, and a true 'shadow dog' who loves being close to his person. He enjoys neighborhood walks where he walks beautifully and gets excited every time his harness comes out. He also knows 'sit'. He eats dry dog food and shows no guarding. Just a happy little food dance before meals. He didn't have any accidents and did great with men, women, and handled other dogs calmly on walks.

Milton thrives on companionship and does struggle with separation anxiety. When left alone in a confined space, he may become destructive, but he does much better with short absences and having access to more of the house. A home where someone is around often, or willing to help him continue working through this, would be wonderful.

Once Milton settles in, he becomes incredibly affectionate. After about a week in his fling home, he was happily climbing up for cuddles, leaning into pets, and choosing to be wherever his person was. He loves car rides, long walks, and simply sharing space with his human."

Milton is a devoted companion who has already known loss and change. What he wants most now is consistency, patience, and a forever home where he can feel secure again.

If you would like to meet Milton, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
