Milo's Story

LOCATION: Orem, UT
DOB: 07/25/2020

Milo is a loving, people-oriented dog who thrives on companionship. He is very much a velcro dog, happily following his people from room to room and “helping” with whatever is going on. He appears to prefer women but does well with everyone he meets. Milo is affectionate, loyal, and always wants to be close to his humans — whether that means shadowing you through the house or curling up on the couch for a nap.

His energy level is moderate and tends to match that of his family. He enjoys playing with other dogs once he feels comfortable, but he does require slow, thoughtful introductions at first. After a few days to decompress and build confidence, he settles in nicely and enjoys tug-of-war, chase, and wrestling with his canine friends. He could do well as an only dog or with other dogs in the home.

Milo is house-trained and has had no accidents in his foster home. He does fairly well in a crate and only tends to whine if other dogs are vocal. On leash, he is still a work in progress and sometimes needs guidance. In the car, he rides along but may try to climb into the front seat to be closer to his person.

He is not much of a barker, though on rare occasions he will let out a deep, excited howl. He loves chewing on bones and carrying toys around, often running and happily shaking them with enthusiasm. He is not particularly food-driven and was hesitant to eat when he first arrived, but his appetite has improved significantly. He enjoys treats like blueberries, apples, oatmeal, and especially cheese, though peanut butter is not a favorite.

Milo is currently living with large Great Danes and, after a brief adjustment period, has formed positive relationships with them. He also lives with cats and has shown little interest in them. While he loves people of all ages, his size and clumsiness could unintentionally knock over small children. He would likely do best with older children or teenagers who can handle his enthusiasm.

Milo is still working on some house manners, including jumping up to greet people, checking hands for treats, and occasionally investigating the garbage. With consistency and guidance, he continues to improve.

The ideal home for Milo would be one where someone is home often or a family that can provide him with the attention, structure, and affection he craves. He is a happy, devoted boy who will flourish with patient guidance and a family committed to helping him continue to grow into his best self.

=========================
To apply to adopt Milo, please fill out the application form: https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176

SRGDRR adopts nationwide and offers transport options to help you find your perfect match. Team Rocky Enterprises, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
How Our Adoption Process Works Team Rocky Enterprises DBA Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab (SRGDRR) follows a thoughtful adoption process designed to ensure the best possible match for both our dogs and their future families. Our available dogs are posted on our website, Facebook page, and multiple adoption platforms, including Petfinder. Once you find a dog you’re interested in, the process includes: 1. Adoption Application – This helps us learn about you, your household, and what you’re looking for in a dog so we can make the best match. 2. Veterinary Reference Check – We verify that current or past pets have received appropriate veterinary care. First-time pet owners are welcome and encouraged to apply. 3. Phone Interview – This is a chance for us to talk with you about the dog you’re interested in, including personality, needs, medical history, and any quirks. It’s also your opportunity to ask questions about the dog and our rescue. 4. Home Check – We confirm that your home environment is safe and appropriate for the dog, whether that includes a fenced yard or a leash-walking setup. This is not a housekeeping inspection—just a safety check. Once all steps are completed and approved, you’ll sign an adoption contract and submit an adoption donation. From there, your new forever friend will be ready to head home! Why This Process Matters Our goal is to match each dog with a home that best meets their needs. Some dogs thrive with experienced owners, while others do best with someone who is home most of the day or understands specific behavioral or medical needs. Taking the time to get this right helps ensure lifelong, successful adoptions. Our Lifetime Commitment If at any point you are unable to keep your adopted dog, you must contact us. We will always take our dogs back. We never want them to end up in unsafe situations or shelters again. Our responsibility to each dog lasts for their lifetime. Thank you for choosing rescue and for considering adoption with SRGDRR.
