Here's our man, Milo! Milo is a 2-3yr old Siberian Husky and your new adventure buddy 🐾💙 This handsome 45lb pup is the total package—equal parts cuddle bug and outdoor enthusiast. He's living with a great Foster family who share that he’s incredibly affectionate and loves being close to his people, whether that’s soaking up belly rubs or just hanging out by your side. He’s happiest out exploring the world on walks, taking in all the sights and smells, and would love an active home to share his adventures with. Long Road Home's Adoption Policy

Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
