Milo's Story

Please read full profile. Milo is part of a bonded pair with Lilita.

Milo is a scared little guy, initially, but comes around quickly once he knows he is safe and his humans are not going to hurt him.

Milo came to us from a shelter in WV where he was adopted to an elderly owner with dementia as a little puppy. His new Mom used to twirl little patches of his hair into mats and pull on them. He hated that and would snap at her. So the family returned him back to the shelter when he came to our rescue.

Milo is a 1-year old Pekingese and Chihuahua mix who weighs 12 lbs.

Milo is up to date on vaccines, neutered, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and is micro-chipped.

Milo is crate-trained, and is perfecting his house-training with supervision, and is doing well.

Milo currently lives with dogs that range between 8 lbs to 45 lbs and has done well with them. Milo is bonded with his little girlfriend Lilita. They have fun chasing each other and sharing toys to play tug.
He plays with his stuffies and enjoys chewing on his chew toys.

Milo loves belly rubs and will nudge your hand to get petted once he feels safe. He is a sweet little guy, but has his limits, especially when it comes to being petted on his back. He was very nervous about being petted on his back initially and would grumble to let us know he had enough. He now is fine with it, but on occasion, he will let you know when he had enough and will grumble. We are sure it was because his previous owner would twirl his hair into mats and pull on them.
It takes a patient person who is dog savvy and can read the signs he gives when he wants to be left alone.

Milo has been around an 11-year old girl and totally LOVES her. He would bring his toys to her and wanting to be petted by her. However, due to his past trauma, we think he should only go into a home with dog savvy owners.

Milo sleeps in his crate at night and does well in it when his family has to leave the home.

You can watch his video here: https://youtu.be/eY-usiGkR6w

Again, Milo is part of a bonded pair with Lilita and will only be adopted together.

If you are interested in our little fella Milo, please send an email and request an adoption application at NeedfulSoulsDogRescue@gmail.com
