Milo's Story
Milo is a 1–2 year old, ~42 lb cattle dog mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of quiet love.

Rescued from the San Benito Animal Shelter in South Texas — where dogs are kept in outdoor kennels with little protection from the elements and limited access to care — Milo has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. Despite his past, Milo has chosen softness, kindness, and trust.

Now fostered in Nags Head, NC (OBX), Milo is safe, healthy, and ready to find his forever home.

Milo is:
• Dog friendly with all sizes and personalities
• Cat friendly
• Kid friendly
• Gentle, submissive, and easygoing
• A total love bug once he feels comfortable
• A wonderful “intro” cattle dog — no nipping or herding behaviors

Milo has been evaluated by multiple veterinarians and is fully vetted. He is heartworm negative and has received a ProHeart 12 injection, providing a full year of heartworm prevention. He is also neutered and up to date on care.

Milo does have a slight limp in his back leg. It does not cause him pain or slow him down, and at this time it is expected to improve on its own without intervention.

What makes Milo truly special is his quiet, shy nature. He’s not the dog pushing to the front for attention — he’s the one sitting back, hoping someone will notice him. And when you do… you’ll discover the sweetest, most loyal companion.

Milo is looking for a home where he can feel safe, loved, and finally at peace — a soft place to land where he can just be a dog.

Apply to adopt Milo:
https://blueysh4h.org/heeler-adoption-application-form/
